On July 20th, 2024, the Atlanta chapter of the College Tennis Alumni Network hosted an exciting event at the Atlanta Open. A total of 18 tennis alumni participated, gathering on the opening day of the tournament. The anticipation was high as many attendees experienced watching an ATP tournament for the first time.

The group enjoyed thrilling matches, including Kevin King vs. J.J. Wolf and Billy Harris vs. Nate Bonetto. It was a fantastic opportunity to see high-level tennis up close and to share the excitement with fellow alumni.
“It was wonderful to see the expressions of excitement and pure joy from everyone as they watched such an incredibly high level of tennis. Events like this create unforgettable memories.”
Jesus Villamizar Abia, Chapter coordinator & Georgia College & State University alum (’23)

The event had a diverse group of participants representing various universities, including:
- Georgia College & State University

- Howard University
- Georgia Tech
- Morehouse College
- Emory University
- Oglethorpe University
- Georgia State University
- University of South Carolina
- Clark Atlanta University
- Alabama A&M University
- Queens University of Charlotte
The variety of alumni from different schools made the experience even more special, as it allowed for new connections.

“This was my first ATP tournament, and it was an unforgettable experience!” said Christian Reinhard, one enthusiastic participant.
The event was a great success, bringing together a community of tennis lovers and strengthening the bonds among alumni. The Atlanta chapter looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future!
