The New Haven chapter of the College Tennis Alumni Network hosted their first social event over pizza at the end of January. The event provided a great opportunity to come together, connect, and discuss future events.
Nineteen people showed up to BAR in New Haven, CT and reminisced about their competitive tennis playing days while also networking and making professional connections. People attended from all parts of Connecticut – while some were local to New Haven, others drove over an hour to attend the event from the Hartford area. Some of the participants already knew each other from their participation in the USTA New England Social Tennis League.
“It was amazing connecting with people from all sorts of tennis backgrounds, from playing D1 to club tennis. This event provided a great opportunity to revisit old friendships and build new relationships with other former collegiate athletes. I think everyone in attendance can say that they are looking forward to the next event!”
Noelle Strzalkowski, New Haven chapter co-coordinator & University of New Haven ‘19 alum

“The event was a great success. It was so nice to connect with other former college tennis players who still love the sport. The huge turnout really demonstrated the need for a group like this in the New Haven area.”
Jessica Seidman, New Haven chapter co-coordinator & Wesleyan University ‘15 alum
Overall, the event was a success and many new friendships were formed. As for next steps, the New Haven chapter is working on a mixed doubles event at an indoor tennis or table tennis facility.
